Let’s Detroit is excited to welcome three new additions to the Spring 2022 cohort of Campus Ambassadors who will help connect more regional college students to the Let’s Detroit networking and community-building resources. Our Campus Ambassadors are talented young people who are passionate about making an impact in our region!
These college students join the existing eight ambassadors remotely to engage their friends and classmates with the Let’s Detroit website, social media, and texting platform. Each campus ambassador will create content for Let’s Detroit in the form of blogs about their career goals, internships, and their neighborhoods, favorites lists about the things they like to do outside of school, social media posts about how to use Let’s Detroit, and curate online events October through December. Click on each name to learn more and connect!
Kelly Goodwin is studying business administration and art and design at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. “As a child, it was always important for me to express my creativity and share it with the world. You could always find me making animations, drawing, painting, sculpting, building things, designing shirts etc. I would even make up my own job applications for my friends and create websites or stands to sell what I’ve made. This interest in the intersection of business and creativity only strengthened as I grew and is what led me to pursue my major in marketing and my minor in art and design.” Connect with Kelly here.
Kennedi Smith is studying public health at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. “Since the Metro Detroit area has provided me with much assistance like helping me earn a free education, I have a desire to give back and spread more opportunities in the community. Let’s Detroit is forward-focused as it promotes growth for all, and I’m super excited to contribute to this vision.” Connect with Kennedi here.
Shalma Torres is studying environmental studies at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. “I entered Michigan unsure of what path to take; then soon, I fell in love with sustainability. Environmental justice is of interest to me because it combines political science and the environment. The effects climate change will have on minorities will be detrimental if we do not educate ourselves. ” Connect with Shalma here.
