Kelly Goodwin
My story

My name is Kelly Goodwin and I am in my third year at the University of Michigan, where I am majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Art & Design. Being raised in the Detroit area, I grew up with a passion for helping others and giving back to my community. I’ve had the opportunity to work with nonprofits like The Greening of Detroit and educational outreach programs like Wolverine Pathways. In my free time I enjoy drawing, video editing and creating animations!

how I got started

As a child, it was always important for me to express my creativity and share it with the world. You could always find me making animations, drawing, painting, sculpting, building things, designing shirts etc. I would even make up my own job applications for my friends and create websites or stands to sell what I’ve made. This interest in the intersection of business and creativity only strengthened as I grew and is what led me to pursue my major in Marketing and my minor in Art & Design. As creativity has always been my passion and utilizing it has always been an outlet for me, I wanted to find a way to incorporate it within my future career.

What I love most about working in Southeast Michigan

I’ve always loved living in this region because there is so much that this area has to offer that doesn’t get awareness and while Detroit gets such a bad wrap there’s really no city like it. There’s so much culture and talent and an endless amount of opportunities. I’ve always been passionate about being active in my community and giving back to it I hope to continue to do so!
