Women Leading in Tech, March 10: Meet the Panelists

To celebrate Women’s History Month, Let’s Detroit is hosting a free networking reception and panel celebrating some of the top women in the high-tech auto and mobility industry and startup community. The event will be held on Thursday, March 10, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Bea’s Detroit. Get to know the panelists below, and register for Women Leading in Tech here.

Danielle Alexander, Software Engineer, Robert Bosch LLC

Danielle Alexander is a software engineer in the automotive industry. She started her career working as an intern at Bosch testing radios and navigation systems until graduating from the University of Michigan in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. She is currently developing Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems at Bosch with a focus on Automatic Emergency Braking, which means she helps train vehicles to brake automatically to avoid or mitigate collisions. Alexander is proud to be a part of the amazing team of people developing the necessary stepping-stones that will take autonomous vehicles from the realm of science fiction and bring them onto our roads and into our everyday lives.  

Casie Ocana, Vice President, Marketing, Airspace Link

Casie Ocana serves as the vice president of marketing for Airspace Link, a leading drone technology company. She is responsible for marketing initiatives across the enterprise including B2C, B2B, and B2G offerings. With 10+ years of experience in disciplines across marketing and sales, Ocana has expertise with an assortment of mobility, technology, and health care companies. Prior to joining Airspace Link, Ocana was the global manager of emerging media for Ford Motor Company with responsibility for driving innovation into media strategy, thought leadership, and executions across global markets.

Over her five-year tenure at Ford, Ocana was recognized for leading impactful initiatives across global marketing including programs in brand strategy and partnerships, customer experience, emerging media and technology, and brand licensing. Prior to joining Ford, Ocana was based in San Francisco working at a leading agency in adtech and consumer brands, spearheading sales and marketing efforts.  

Ocana was recognized for her accomplishments as part of Ford’s Thirty Under 30 program in 2017. She also currently serves the community on the board of Detroit-based social services nonprofit, Crossroads.

Jessica Willis, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Pocketnest

Jessica Willis has spent her career in the investment and finance industries and has earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA) designations. Willis has an MBA from Loyola University Chicago, Quinlan School of Business and an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. She has a passion for personal finance, getting messy plans in order efficiently and cost-effectively, and for brilliant industry disruption. Willis is on a mission to bring financial wellness to the masses.
