Volunteers Wanted: NSO and DYP’s Handlebars for the Homeless Bicycle Tour Fundraiser Returns to Detroit, Aug. 14

Neighborhood Service Organization (NSO) and Black Young Professionals of Metro Detroit (DYP) are gearing up for their annual Handlebars for the Homeless bicycle fundraiser on Sunday, Aug. 14. The event, back in person after a two-year pandemic hiatus, will feature a guided tour along a new 15-mile route, beginning and ending at the former Michigan Bell Building. All proceeds will assist with outreach and recovery services provided by NSO for people without housing in Detroit.

Anyone is able to volunteer.  Volunteers will have the opportunity to help set up for the event, greet and assist riders, run various booths, and support the safety and security of all participants. All volunteers will also receive a commemorative volunteer t-shirt and lunch. The event will also feature beverages, snacks, games, and a DJ.

To sign up to volunteer, visit Black Young Professionals of Metro Detroit’s website.
