Make an Impact with Board Service

The Detroit Regional Chamber recently created the Detroit Board Leadership Program to seek out qualified board candidates and provide a realistic overview of what it means to serve on a charter school board.

Volunteering and donating money are excellent ways to make an impact on our region. For those looking to make an even deeper commitment to the community could consider joining a nonprofit board – but how do you do that?

The Detroit Regional Chamber recently created the Detroit Board Leadership Program to seek out qualified board candidates and provide a realistic overview of what it means to serve on a charter school board, a huge need in our region. No matter your feelings on charter schools, the fact is that more than 145,000 Michigan students attend charter schools, and those public schools need to be governed.

Check out the Chamber website for more information on what it means to serve on a Public School Academy Board and complete this inquiry form by January 31 to be considered for the training program.
