Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo

From November 20th through January 3rd, walk through Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo! Enjoy the 1.1 mile loop of animal-themed light displays as you stroll through the zoo grounds. Note that animal habitats will be closed. Masks are required for all guests age 5+. Wild Lights continues in the rain and snow, so dress for the weather. Join on select weeknights and Sundays from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays 5:00 – 10:30 p.m. Tickets range from $15-$20 per person with $8 parking fee. Ice Skating at Campus Martius Park

Wayne County LightFest

Get your COVID bubble people in the car or a caravan of your friends (gotta stay safe y'all!) for the annual drive-through Wayne County Lightfest along Hines Drive. Starting November 25th through December 31st, cruise the 4.5 miles of holiday-themed lights from the comfort, safety and warmth of your car. Masks must be worn when you stop at the admission booth to pay $5 per car. Hour are Wednesday - Friday from 7:00 PM - 10:00PM and 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM on Saturday/Sunday. Holiday Nights at Greenfield Village

Pack your handwarmers and toe warmers for a walk through The Henry Ford's Greenfield Village open on the weekends this December 6:30pm-10pm! Program modifications have been made for safety this year, but visitors can enjoy: Free carousel rides, decorated homes and shops, holiday vignettes presented in period attire, carolers and live musical performances, holiday cooking demonstrations, skilled artisan demonstrations, Santa and live reindeer, Christmas trees and greens sale, and fireworks finale and sing-along. Kwanzaa with The Wright

Celebrate the 7 Principles of Kwanzaa with The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History with online events December 26-January 1, 2020. Each night will feature storytelling, songs, dances, and poetry readings. Kwanzaa is an African-American holiday founded in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, as a way to unite the community following the Watts Rebellion.
