I love the feeling of finding a nice trail or path through some wooded areas, just to get to the end to find a great view!

Stony Creek Metropark
Stony Creek Metropark - Main Park Drive, Shelby Charter Township MI
This park is absolutely stunning and only a few minutes drive from most of Metro Detroit. The park consists of tens of trails, with plenty of rentals available. They even have a full disc golf course, and most recently added a high ropes course. The park is fairly large and only charges a minimal per vehicle admission fees, although they do offer yearly passes! In the mild weather seasons they offer various races and marathons for everyone from beginners to experts! In the summer they offer a spectacular fireworks show one night in June! But be prepared, the park gets full for this event!

Lake St. Clair Metro Park

A local favorite nestled just north of St. Clair Shores, in Harrison Township, Lake St. Clair Metro Park has everything for beginner outdoorsmen to seasoned veterans to enjoy a day in nature. Some of the highlights of the park include a Lake St. Clair beach, nature trails, nature preserves, and even an educational Nature center. For those that like to spend their days on a golf course, the park also offers a reasonably priced par three golf course. Furthermore, the park offers various rentals including kayaks, paddle boards and rentals, making it perfect for just about everyone.

George George Memorial Park

A favorite amongst Northern Macomb high schools for prom and homecoming pictures, George George park offers some of the most breath-taking scenery a northern Macomb park can offer. The parks boast various trails leading deep into the woods, or right along side ponds with gorgeous fountains. In addition to its stunning scenery perfect for pictures, the park offers various playscapes for both the young and young at a heart. Overall the park provides gorgeous scenery while being family friendly, and a few minutes’ drive from most of northern Macomb county.

Blossom Heath Park

Known for its proximity to Lake St. Clair and boat launch access, Blossom Heath Park has proven itself as a favorite amongst the shores. The park offers various photo opportunities with nature, in addition the park has various bridges wavering over a pond making it a photographer’s dream. Furthermore, the park boasts its own event hall, able to accommodate large gatherings such as weddings or work parties. Finally, it would not be a St. Clair Shores favorite if it did not feature boat launch and various docking slips! This park is perfect from families, photographers, and boaters alike.

Grosse Pointe War Memorial

Known for its elegant appeal and high-class gatherings, the Grosse Pointe War Memorial is one of the most stunning parks in the area. The memorial itself boasts a large one-time house built in 1910, with three levels of elegant features and stunning views. However, take a walk through or behind and one will find stunning gardens, backing up to an opening in the shoreline of Lake St. Clair, allowing the eyes to see for miles. Although it does not have rentals, or various trail access, the views and features of the memorial keep the guests coming.
