There are so many good coffee shops in Detroit that I wouldn’t even be able to share them all in one list, but here are some of my favorites from across the region. Most of my coffee knowledge just comes from visiting as many cafes as possible, but I’ve also worked as a barista before and have plenty of friends that work or own coffee shops.
My favorite drink to order is a cortado, the perfect mix of espresso and milk.

This coffee shop is inside of an old house and former grocery store in Hamtramck, stop by on a Saturday for live performances.

A great spot to hang out or get into study mode right in downtown Royal Oak.

The only Yemeni coffee shop in the United States, Yemen is one of the worlds first coffee producers!

Coffee shop and roastery in West Dearborn and a great space to hang out in the downtown area. I love the honey lavendar matcha latte.

This small coffee shop and roaster in Corktown is my favorite place to get a pour over. The space is beautifully designed and they have new chalk murals go up pretty regularly.

Great coffee, a huge space in Capitol Park, and they're open late... gotta love it.
