Just off the beaten path, West Village, Detroit is a little retail and residential oasis tucked away from the fast pace of Jefferson and Van Dyke Avenue. West Village is on the city’s eastside just past the bridge to Belle Isle and neighbors Indian Village.

The tree-lined, walkable community is full of row houses, grand apartment buildings, and growing retail strips. In recent years, many neighborhood businesses have benefitted from Hatch Detroit and Motor City Match, reinvigorating a thriving small business scene along with Agnes and Parker Streets and East Jefferson.

For a relatively small neighborhood, West Village has no shortage of bars and restaurants, offering up choices from farm-to-table, vegan spins on old favorites, pizza, and some of the best baked goods in Detroit.
