Located approximately 45 from downtown Detroit, Milford boasts delicious restaurants and wonderful green space.


The Village of Milford is a small, historical community with a traditional downtown that serves four other surrounding townships including Highland, Commerce, Whitlake, and portions of Lyon. With national, regional, and family-owned shops, the walkable downtown has over 30 restaurants and is surrounded by green open space along the Huron River – a designated National Water Trail© – offering views of manicured public gardens, parks, and streetscapes.

Downtown Milford and its adjacent neighborhoods are on the National Register of Historic Places. The community hosts several events to attract residents and visitors, including the annual Milford Memories summer festival which brings in more than 200,000 visitors, and the LaFontaine Family Amphitheater, which hosts weekly concerts that see approximately 1,500 people.

Milford is uniquely positioned in the middle of a greenbelt with several local, state, and regional parks. Nearly one-third of Milford is parkland, and within five miles of it is Proud Lake State Park, Highland State Recreation Area, Lyon Oaks, and Camp Dearborn. The Milford Trail, a. state-of-the-art bike path, connects outdoor enthusiasts from downtown Milford to Kensington Metro Park and beyond to a large network of bike trails throughout Oakland and Livingston County, including the Milford Mountain Bike Trail.
