My story
I was born and raised in Detroit’s Midtown area. I enjoy the city’s liveliness, including the art, different foods, music, and unity among Detroiters. I chose to attend Michigan State University because I wanted to experience a different environment without being too far from home! Downtown East Lansing mimics an urban setting and makes me feel at home away from home.
I am a Detroit M.A.D.E scholar and a general body member of MSU’s Black Student Alliance. Detroit M.A.D.E is a program that is centered around helping first-year students from Detroit transition to MSU successfully.

What I love most about working in Southeast Michigan
I love the feeling of home and the constant improvement I feel in Detroit. I feel that Detroit gets a bad reputation but overall is a very welcoming city. There’s always something to do and something new to try out.
