My story
Hello, my name is Daryl Beatty and I am a fourth year student majoring in psychology at Eastern Michigan University. I am from Detroit, Michigan born and raised on the city’s west side. My hobbies consist of spending time with my family, watching sports, specifically basketball and football and lastly traveling. Outside of school I am involved with three different organizations which includes Black Student Union, NAACP and Kings of Color Inc. Through these organizations I partake in community engagement and advocacy for the fight against social injustices specifically amongst people of color.

What I love most about working in Southeast Michigan
The opportunity to work in Southeast Michigan as a psychologist would be a privilege because there is a plethora of opportunity within the city regarding teaching, research and community engagement. Detroit is a city that is looking for innovative thinkers and community developers within this field and I want to be a part of that demographic.
