My story
Charles was born and raised on the Eastside of Detroit, MI. Growing up he played Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball for the Detroit Superfriends and would travel throughout the year all across the country to play other teams. He played all four years of basketball at Chandler Park Academy High School and graduated in 2014. After highschool, he attended Wayne State University where he has been studying in the Mike Illitch School of Business. He originally chose Wayne State to pursue a degree in engineering and play for the basketball team; however life had other plans for him. Charles has been doing campus ministry for three years and loves spending his downtime connecting with students about faith, and the daily rhythms of life. His hobbies consist of: bowling, coaching, training, working out, and of course basketball.

What I love most about working in Southeast Michigan
The thing I love about Detroit the most are the amazing people I have met. In Detroit everyone has their own story that makes them unique. I have gained so much wisdom from someone on the bus, or talking to someone at the secretary of state. I feel that this city is misunderstood because of the history of violence. However, there are some people who are on mission to build Detroit back up. I honestly love the vision of Detroit with all of the new buildings, the transportation improvements, and nice events.
