Urban Planning | Wayne State University

Fall 2023 - Jacques Jones
My story

I’m a Detroit native with a passion for data visualization and urban planning. My interests include music, food, innovative technology, and cartography.

My major

I received my BA in urban and regional studies from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. During undergrad, I participated in several community development initiatives and had the opportunity to intern for Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation and Washtenaw County. From these positions, I knew I wanted to pursue urban planning in my post-graduate education.

What I love most about Southeast Michigan

I love Detroit because it’s my city and there’s a myriad of people at work looking to display its beauty to the world. I seek to be one of these people showcasing the talent, places, and food that is in the city.
