It’s election season. Whether registering to vote, checking your registration status, or preparing to cast your ballot, access to reliable resources makes the process smoother.

Check out the nonpartisan resources below to help guide you through the 2024 presidential election.

Michigan’s Secretary of State

The Michigan Secretary of State’s office provides a comprehensive suite of tools and information for voters in Michigan. Ensure you are registered to vote by visiting the Michigan Voter Information Center website. Here, you can check your registration status, update your voter information, and find your polling location. You can also view your sample ballot and apply for absentee voting.

Knowledgeable voters know which candidates and proposals will be on their ballot before they go to the polls, so they can find what best aligns with their interests. Learning about your ballot ahead of time helps you make informed choices that reflect your values.

Local Election Offices

Your local election office, also called a clerk, is a key resource for voting information specific to your area. They can provide details on:

  • Polling locations and hours
  • Early voting options
  • Absentee and mail-in voting procedures
  • Voter ID requirements

You can find contact information for your local election office through your state’s election website or by visiting the U.S. Vote Foundation, which offers a directory of election offices. You can visit your clerk in person if you want to apply to vote, submit an absentee ballot, or receive a new ballot if you spoiled yours.
