Karaoke
Rob Harris
I have been addicted to karaoke ever since I stepped up to a microphone to sing “Little Bunny Foo Foo” as a joke 16 years ago. I began attending karaoke shows across Michigan four times a week. It was not long before I began purchasing my own karaoke discs, equipment and books. I studied the industry and started hosting my own karaoke shows for Wayne State students. Over the past 10 years, I have hosted over 1000 shows and I still get excited to watch people light up the karaoke stage.
You find such an eclectic bunch around Southeast Michigan. From rockers, comedians, theater buffs to Motown legends, you never know what you will find on a night of karaoke. I have watched people become best friends on karaoke nights and even witnessed people fall in love and find their soulmate. I never get tired of the karaoke magic that brings together people from different backgrounds.

3rd Street Bar
3rd Street Bar - 3rd Avenue, Detroit MI
You never know what will happen or who will show up at 3rd Street Bar on a Tuesday night. One time, Motown legend Martha Reeves walked in as someone was singing "Anaconda" by Nicki Minaj. Another time Meg White from the White Stripes stopped by to dance to "Daydream Believer" by the Monkees. It's always a totally unpredictable crowd at 3rd Street, but always fun and memorable.
