Balancing your well-being amidst the rigors of college life can feel overwhelmingly
stressful, but rest assured, it is achievable. As a fellow student at the University of Michigan, I
understand the challenges firsthand. With a constant stream of assignments, consecutive exams,
and the pressure to participate in social events to avoid FOMO, navigating college life can be
demanding, but there are ways to combat these challenges.

One effective way to unwind is by disconnecting from your phone and being present in
the moment. Phones are notorious distractions, constantly pulling us into various apps like
TikTok or Instagram. Yet, by setting boundaries and putting your phone away at designated
times, you may realize how much time is wasted on it. Additionally, disconnecting allows you to
relax without the pressures of social media weighing on you.

Another valuable method to unwind is through exercise. Physical activity not only
benefits you physically but also mentally. It has been shown to reduce stress levels and uplift
mood. Moreover, it provides an opportunity for your body to release tension and rejuvenate.

While these tips may seem simple, they can have profound effects on your overall well-being.
Prioritizing your well-being is paramount during college years, as the challenges and
stress can often lead to neglecting self-care. Remember, taking care of yourself is essential for
success and happiness amidst the college experience.
