My story
I am from Detroit, Michigan and I am currently a junior at Michigan State University. I chose MSU because it is close to home but also far at the same time; and the advertising field in the ComArtSci college is extremely good and seemed like a great fit for me. Some of my hobbies include painting, doing nails, and editing videos and photos.
My major
I chose creative advertising because I am able to freely express myself and use some of my passions in my work. Advertising is a big field and there are so many career paths within the major. It seemed like an ideal fit for me. I was recently in a class called L.A. Experience, which focused on professional development. We took a week-long trip to LA and got to visit advertising agencies and PR firms, as well as meet many MSU Alumni. Seeing how far the alumni got and how they took the same classes I’m taking was very inspiring and made me realize the possibilities there are in my major and college.
What I love most about Southeast Michigan
I love how Detroit is evolving and how versatile it is as a city. There is so much to do and new activities and places to explore within the downtown area of the city, including the neighborhoods that are starting to come together and grow as a community. I think Detroit is inspiring in a way because you can see the evolution over the years. Also, I love the Detroit natives, there are so many entrepreneurs here in the city and I love to see the hustle.
