When I chose to attend Wayne State in 2017, I knew that I’d be moving to campus to live without a car. While my friends, parents, and grandparents questioned my decision continuously, I was confident: the Q-Line had just opened, MoGo was launching, and if all else failed, I figured I could give DDOT and SMART a try.
Within the first day of living on campus, I had ridden the Q-Line downtown and bought a MoGo Annual Pass. Shortly after that, I started using MoGo to ride to the nearest Q-Line or DDOT stop, and I never had to walk more than a block in between.
Soon after, my roommate and I were taking MoGo everywhere we went; even if it was only three blocks, we’d grab MoGos before we’d choose to walk.
For three years, I got everywhere on a MoGo, whether it was 20 degrees and snowing or 90 degrees with clear skies. MoGo saved me thousands of dollars on would-be car payments and gas money and, perhaps most importantly, reduced my personal emissions output immeasurably.
When I was in college, I rallied friends time and time again to MoGo with me rather than driving. Now, as MoGo’s Director of Marketing and Community Outreach, I tell people that they should MoGo on a daily basis. If you’ve seen any of MoGo’s social media (which you should; follow MoGo on all platforms @MoGoDetroit), that’s me putting my best foot forward to share why MoGo is Metro Detroit’s premier way to get around.
If you don’t follow us on social media, I’ll sum it up for you:
