You know it’s spring and summer here in the Detroit region when the street fairs, art shows, concerts, and of course, food trucks and outdoor dining abound. I have personally enjoyed many of the food trucks around the region, and some of my favorites are listed below.

Regina's Food Truck

The Pink Flamingo
2746 Vermont St - Detroit, MI USA
The Pink Flamingo is a rustic trailer that has been converted into a portable farm-to-table restaurant. The chef, Kristyn Koth, has created a fresh and diverse menu that is perfect for takeout or picnic dining. You don’t want to miss their fresh salads or mouthwatering chicken meatballs. Check out the Pink Flamingo when you want a quick, fresh bite. In addition to their food truck, they also have Pink FlaminGo To Go, a carryout restaurant located at 17740 Woodward Ave., between Six Mile and Seven Mile.

Hero Or Villain: Food Truck & Catering
Metro Detroit - MI, USA
Every Metro Detroiter (and visitor) should eat at this restaurant at least once. In 2014, Richard Zemola launched the Hero or Villain food truck. Eight years later, chef Richard and his team have been serving sandwiches all over Detroit. The food truck travels throughout the Midwest, so be sure to check out the website to see when they’ll be back in the area.

The Lobster Food Truck and Pitstop

Chef Nick is a Detroit native who hopes to uplift his community while inspiring the youth to follow their dreams. In 2021, the Lobster Food Truck was voted as the top food truck in Detroit by Hour Detroit for its big flavors, such as lobster and shrimp macaroni and cheese and spicy lobster rolls. This Cuban-inspired restaurant is known for its flavorful and affordable dishes. Customers enjoy dishes with a twist, including the beef frita and the shrimp sandwich. The staff is always friendly, and customers always leave happy and full.
