Networking
Whitney Griffin
As President of Detroit Young Professionals 2016-2019, I regularly had the pleasure of connecting with a diverse collective of Detroiters – both seasoned and fresh. Over the past 10 years, DYP has served as a conduit for connecting young professionals and entrepreneurs with opportunities to grow, connect, and give back to the city. In alignment with that mission, I immerse myself in all of the wonderful happenings and have honed the ability to connect while growing. Detroit is what you make of it and you get back what you give. So simply showing up to events isn’t enough if the goal is to truly become a part of this exciting landscape – immersing yourself is key.
I love the diversity and low barrier to connecting with new people. This city is a true melting pot with people who are open to meeting their fellow Detroiters. Right now, there are unprecedented opportunities for different types of programming – both fun and enriching – and it’s great to see the overwhelming amount of support for these new ventures.
