Whether you’re into climate and energy technologies, government and public service, or advancing your career in the music industry, here are some of the regional fellowships and accelerators accepting applications:
City of Detroit Mayoral Fellowship
Who should apply: undergraduate and graduate students
Compensation: $600/week
The Mayoral Fellowship Program is an opportunity for engaged, motivated, and civic-minded graduate/undergraduate students from all disciplines to apply their coursework to one of the greatest municipalities in the world: the City of Detroit.
Participants will serve the people of Detroit by supporting policy, communications, and public engagement initiatives within the city government. By working hand-in-hand with senior staff across many different City of Detroit departments and sister agencies throughout the city, interns will offer recommendations and possibly implement programs that improve the lives of Detroit’s 673,000 residents. This unique opportunity to work with current decision makers and assist in the implementation of strategy will distinguish you and your skillset to any future employer.
Motown Accelerator
Who should apply: Detroit musicians, bands, and producers looking to take their career to the next level
Compensation: $20,000 grant

Motown Accelerator is an education and grant initiative designed to help music communities level up and break out. Motown Accelerator hosts free public programming accessible to the entire community and also offers dedicated support to artists that have the capability of putting cities on the map as a factory for talent.
Applicants must:
*An “artist” is defined as someone who creates original music of any genre – a songwriter, instrumentalist, vocalist, producer.
**A band must appoint at least one member to participate in the program full-time, and other band members will be required to participate at certain times of the program.

Challenge Detroit Fellowship
Who should apply: recent or soon-to-be college grads or Detroiters already employed in the community development space
Compensation: salary + benefits with host company

New C3 Accelerator to Fast Track Cleantech, Climatech, Circular Economy Hardware Technology
Centrepolis will be launching a new C3 Accelerator that supports innovation in Cleantech, Climatech, Circular Economy technology. A formal program will be introduced in 2021 supporting tech companies in this area with 1on1 assistance as well as up to $250,000 in grants and loans for a select group of companies. Michigan Cleantech Hardware Accelerator program
Centrepolis is offering the Michigan Cleantech Hardware Accelerator program as funded by the Michigan Department of Environment Great Lakes & Energy (EGLE). The program supports Michigan-based entrepreneurs and small businesses who are developing cleantech hardware products or processes that provide an energy efficiency or energy waste reduction benefit. NextCycle Michigan – A New Recycling Accelerator Program
NextCycle Michigan is a State of Michigan initiative with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), managed and facilitated by Resource Recycling Systems (RRS), in collaboration with the Centrepolis Accelerator at Lawrence Technological University, and the Michigan Recycling Coalition. NextCycle Michigan provides an opportunity for businesses, investors, NGOs, trade organizations, and others to contribute significantly to the growth of recycling and the circular economy in Michigan. Entities can contribute to the program design, team recruitment and review, and investment award pool. The program utilizes Innovation Challenges to globally crowd source the best technologies and ideas to improve the repurposing of waste streams that are difficult to recycle or reuse. We are looking for industry partners who have a problematic waste stream that are not easily recycled as well as innovators that have technology solutions to solve these challenges. https://www.nextcyclemichigan.com/
