How to ‘Wine Down’ during Quarantine
Elle The Foodie
I am a food and wine content creator sharing my journey of becoming a home cook through my blog, Millennial Meets Stove. Along with creating recipes, I design wine experiences for millennials throughout Detroit and cohost the outspoken wine podcast – “The Millennial Winedown”.
I have a LOVE for wine. Throughout quarantine, I have spent a lot of extra time studying wine, following wine experts through social media and online websites, and leave the house once a week for an essential wine run. Below are my top picks for wine experiences in Metro Detroit while social distancing.
1
FOLK Detroit
FOLK Detroit - Trumbull Avenue, Detroit MI
The local Detroit market and café offer online ordering of curbside pick-up for drinks, food, and grocery items. You can purchase by visiting their website Thursday through Sunday but only until 2 p.m.! Order wine, champagne, fresh veggies and so much more.
2

How about pizza and wine? Pizzaplex is offering same day pick up for all orders placed before 3 p.m. and the next day for all placed after the cut-off time. Order ready-to-bake pizza, Italian cheese, olive oil, flour (because everyone has decided to start baking) and of course beer, Italian wines, and ciders. Heads up, there’s a delivery minimum of $40 and a $10 delivery fee.
6
MotorCity Wine
MotorCity Wine - Michigan Avenue, Detroit MI
We all love Motor City Wine’s patio, so let’s help support our favorites by ordering wine for pick up, available Wednesday through Saturday. Although there is a six-bottle minimum, bottles can start off at $10-12 so it’ll definitely be worth the buy and I mean, what else do you have to do but drink wine? Text 313-483-7283 with your name and an MCW employee will call you as soon as possible to start your order.
7
