Places to relax with friends after work or school
Charles Reed
I believe I am an expert in recreation because I actually struggled with having fun. When I first started at Wayne, I was very mean and reserved and over the years I learned how to relax and enjoy the moment.
Recreation is amazing because it allows you to be free. Playing a sport, going for a joke, liking with your headphones are often times an escape from the tough realities we face.

Garden Bowl - Woodward Avenue, Detroit MI
This is the go to spot for bowling midtown area. I recommend you go at night if you are looking for real fun. They have a bar, good music, large crowds, and the lanes light up.

Joe Dumars Fieldhouse
Joe Dumars Fieldhouse Detroit - West State Fair Avenue, Detroit MI
One of the best gyms to go to if you want to see a diverse group of people playing basketball. The best time to go is the weekend, there are five courts and they are usually full of games.

Dequindre Cut
Dequindre Cut - Dequindre Cut Greenway, Detroit MI
The go to spot for biking, walking, and running in Detroit. The cut is two miles long and I usually go from there to the Riverwalk. The best time to get a good run or ride would be the morning because it is not as busy.

Cadillac Square at Campus Martius Park is a huge part of Detroit recreation. In the summer, they have different activities, one of my favorites is basketball. In the winter one of my favorite activities is ice skating.
