Restaurants Reopening Today: Here’s 5 New Detroit Spots to Try

Restaurants and bars can reopen for in-door dining starting today after the state imposed a “three-week pause” in November due to a surge in COVID-19 infections. An extended ban on in-dining came in January, further limiting restaurants to takeout and delivery only.

To safely welcome back guests in compliance with the state’s new epidemic order, restaurants must keep their capacity to 25% and close each night by 10 p.m. Dine-in guests must also be seated at tables six-feet apart and provide information for contact tracing.

But, in the midst of COVID-19, disruption, and challenges, restaurateurs have shown resilience and creativity to endure the circumstances. Detroit has even welcomed the birth of new or expanding local eateries. So, if you are carving something new to try, check out the list of five new Detroit restaurants below. Supporting local restaurants offers the chance to invest in the local economy, while enjoying a unique, exciting culinary experience.
