313 Day: Mystery in the Motor City | 6pm-10pm
The year: 1926. The setting: Detroit, Michigan. The crime: murder. This March 13th – 313 day – join the detective team of Emelia Schaub, attorney at law, to solve a murder mystery in the Motor City. Working as a team or on your own, take a wild ride as you solve puzzles, question suspects and solve the murder in The Streets of Old Detroit. This dynamic murder mystery experience will take about 45 minutes to complete. Come early or stay late to enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and explore the museum.
Planet Ant’s 313 Day Party at Ant Hall! | 7pm – 12am
Join us on 3/13 for a 313 Day party to celebrate your pride in living within the famous area code! The evening will feature the OPENING NIGHT performance of The Detroit Musical followed by a talkback panel and then an after party featuring vinyl played by DJ Scott Sanford in our attached bar, Ghost Light.
The Detroit Musical, an original Planet Ant musical comedy, follows the LaMerde family through all 319 years of Detroit’s history. Jacques LaMerde arrived with Cadillac in 1701, and his unsung progeny have been fighting the good fight in Detroit ever since. The LaMerde family has lived through some of Detroit’s most famous historical moments. The French surrender? A LaMerde was there. The 1805 fire? A LaMerde was there. The birth of the auto industry? Celebrating and representing this city is what we do every day, but this day is special because it’s 313 in the D! We are super stoked to announce Andrea Ghita will be rockin the decks for our audio pleasures!! There will be drinks, beats, snacks, and a whole lot of love for Detroit. Currently on the Connect Bookings roster, Detroit’s “First Lady of Wax” is going strong after nearly three decades of DJing and continues to play in cities across the U.S. and around world. She was recently named one of the “20 Women Who Shaped the History of Dance Music” by Mixmag and one of the “Best house music DJs of all time” by TimeOut New York. In 2018, she was presented with the Spirit of Detroit Award for “exceptional achievement, outstanding leadership and dedication to improving the quality of life.”
One can only imagine what other paths Minx will explore in the years to come.
Get Freaky on the Dance Floor at TV Lounge this Friday, 2 Rooms Dancing Fun! Admission is $10, there will be drink specials, vendors, full kitchen and bar, local celebrity PopUp appearances, and a photobooth by Proud Detroiter. Afterpary with Motown Jungle.
