Detroit 101 Virtual Tour

July 14 at 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

This virtual tour, led by our founder Jeanette Pierce, will share what you need to know whether you’ve lived here a day or a lifetime.

Detroit is a complicated city that is too often summarized by a single headline or photo of an
abandoned building but Detroit is so much more than a few headlines can convey. On this virtual tour, our expert guide will provide insights and put things in context as she takes you around the city and throughout the decades. You’ll learn about Detroit’s assets but also its challenges. We’ll talk about major historical events that shaped us as a city and introduce you to some of Detroit’s most inspiring people, places and projects. Whether you’ve been in Detroit a day or a lifetime, this virtual experience will give you a better understanding of Detroit’s past and present so you’ll be better prepared to impact its future.

This virtual tour, led by our founder and director of City Institute, Jeanette Pierce, will be visual and interactive, so come ready to learn (and ready to chat with Jeanette!)

You will receive a Zoom link in your Eventbrite confirmation.

These online talks and tours are free, with a $5-50 suggested donation to support our non-profit. We can accept donations on our website linked here, or on PayPal at
