I’m a Michigan native, local to the Metro-Detroit area. I work as a commodity buyer for Benteler Automotive, a German Tier-One automotive supplier, supporting our North American production. I live in New Center, a neighborhood in Detroit and spend most of my time on my bike, frequenting coffee shops/record stores/new restaurants, and going to shows. Through my studies in Spanish, and my career in supply chain I’ve traveled to many places and have had several opportunities to move elsewhere, but no place that I’ve been has the energy and excitement of Detroit.
how I got started
Upon finishing my undergrad studies in Spanish, I started out in education as a business manager for a charter school district in Southwest Detroit. After growing an interest in global supply chain and finance, I went back to school and completed my MBA so that I could change career paths to move into automotive procurement.
What I love most about working in Southeast Michigan
I love working in Southeast Michigan because of the collective drive that everyone has. Of all the places I’ve been I’ve never seen such a collaborative group of people who all share the drive and focus to put our region on the map.
