My story
I’m a Detroiter who loves spending time adventuring through the city, learning about its history and finding new restaurants. I am part of the human resources team with ACCESS, focusing on talent acquisition and employee engagement. When I’m not working, you can find me crocheting or rewatching a favorite TV show on Netflix. I listen to a wide range of podcasts and audiobooks, ranging from true crime — to learning about HR management. I have a hard time not petting every single dog that walks through my life. I love connecting with new people, finding what makes them tick, and working to find a way to help them grow in life or in their career. I’m passionate about empowering the people around me to reach their goals.
how I got started
I’ve always been passionate about empowering communities, so I started with ACCESS as an intern in our Social Services department, working on writing grants for our housing assistance programming. Over the next few years, I recognized my interest in developing and engaging employees as individuals and teams as part of nonprofit strategy and am now in the human resources department of ACCESS.
What I love most about working in Southeast Michigan
I love the interconnectedness of the nonprofit, start-up and government networks here in Southeast Michigan. There’s incredible community buy-in on establishing effective partnerships, so we have the opportunity to create a larger social impact through our work.
