Hi there, my name is Kamali Clora and I’m from Belleville, MI. Currently, I’m a fourth-year student at Wayne State University (WSU) studying Public Health with a minor in music in the Irvin D. Reid Honors College. Outside of my coursework, I perform biological science research, work as a pharmacy technician, and deliver training as an AmeriCorps member. Additionally, I am the Founder and CEO of Bee Plus Detroit. Bee Plus Detroit is a non-profit organization that seeks to prevent the diminishing bee populations within the city while promoting food security. We accomplish this mission through education and by building urban bee farms out of repurposed materials. Things I love are food, music, and life experiences! Groups I am involved with: Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program, CVS Health, Applebaum Fellows Program, Michigan Beekeepers Association, Michigan Nonprofit Association, National Association for Music Education.
how I got started
As a sustainability and student wellness advocate, environmental health education has continued to become a growing passion for me. Throughout my time at WSU, I have gained much experience in implementing policy initiatives to enhance student success. As a future healthcare administrator, I will focus on education, policy, and cultural competency to develop inclusive solutions toward equitable health in underserved communities.
What I love most about working in Southeast Michigan
Working in Southeast Michigan has provided me much opportunity to learn in such diverse settings. My experiences and connections have motivated me to pursue my career goals. Being here has also given me the agency to give back to the community. Knowing that I have family in Detroit, I want to contribute the best way I can to the community we live in.
