My story
I work full time as Director of Community Development at Walker-Miller Energy Services (WMES), a Detroit based company that focuses on energy efficiency. Throughout my tenure with the company, I have taken on many roles including both residential and commercial energy analysis, program design and implementation, strategic planning, and community + government relations. I am passionate about the development and implementation of progressive and equitable clean energy policy at a state and local level, especially within the city of Detroit where I work with City Council to educate and advocate for expanded access to clean energy resources. Outside of my role at WMES I am actively involved with the US Green Building Council’s Detroit Community, and also plan and attend many sustainability-focused events.
how I got started
I joke that I started off being very nosy about sustainability-related things in Detroit. I grew a network by finding and attending as many events as I could and getting to know people.
What I love most about working in Southeast Michigan
Detroit has a million stories to tell – and I love to hear all of them. There are passionate, exciting people here and there’s always something new to get into.
